How to manage and care for the older horse
Professor Pat Harris and Nicola Jarvis
We welcomed vets Professor Pat Harris, European Specialist in Veterinary Clinical and Comparative Nutrition and Director of Science Mars Horsecare, and Nicola Jarvis, Head of Veterinary Services at Redwings Horse Sanctuary, to discuss the latest scientific research and share their experiences on how best to care for the older or geriatric horse.
Pat and Nicky spoke to us about everything from nutrition through to the management of age-related diseases such as Cushings/PPID and explained what changes we can make to keep our older horses as fit and as healthy for as long as possible. As always, Pat and Nicky were on hand at the end to answer any questions from the live audience.
