Cambodia

We train and mentor local village vets, work directly with horse owning communities to encourage improved horse management, and support local education institutes.

China

We are collaborating with universities to help support equine welfare knowledge and better understand the roles equids play and their welfare challenges.

Colombia

Our first project in Colombia is a small grant scheme awarded to CES University, based in Medellin, in 2018 to research equine welfare in Antioquia.

Costa Rica

We helped establish Costa Rica Equine Welfare in 2014 and continue to build equine welfare networks within the indigenous communities.

Cuba

We work with Asociación Cubana de Medicina Veterinaria (ACMV) and the Ministry of Agriculture to develop and implement equine welfare assessments. Our partnership with Grupo Empresarial Flora y Fauna helps train farriers.

Guatemala

We established Servicios de Apoyo en Bienestar Equino (SABESA) and continue to build equine welfare networks in Chimaltenango and Sacatepequez.

Haiti

We helped establish Fondation Quatre Pattes, the first Haitian animal welfare organisation, who now runs community-based projects in rural towns.

Honduras

We helped establish Equinos de Honduras (EQUHS) and are building equine welfare networks of saddlers, farriers and community based equine advisors.

Lesotho

We train and mentor government livestock extension staff in equine welfare and engage with owners of working equids through community clinics and workshops.

Mexico

We have a community-based project with Universidad Autónoma Benito Juarez de Oaxaca and are building a network of farriers, vets and vet students.

Nepal

We have worked in the Nepalgunj region since 2017 supporting equine-owning communities to access services and training to enhance their livelihoods.

Nicaragua

We have established a partnership with Universidad de Ciencias Comerciales and an equine clinic in Managua to support the equid owners.

Panama

We are creating sustainable network of equine service providers and work directly with the Ministry of Agriculture to educate horse owners on equine welfare.

Senegal

We are building local community networks of owners, farriers, harness makers and vets and work with Brooke and the Livestock Ministry to give farrier training.

South Africa

We work in partnership with the Cart Horse Protection Association in the Cape Flat and are building a network of horse welfare organisations across the Western Cape.
