Meet Desperado

Desperado is a cool wee dude of a pony who really stands out from the crowd with his striking blue eye and show off nature. Desperado has taken to work like a duck to water and is ready to find a new home with a family who we think will simply adore him. He loves children and would happily stand for lots of cuddles and attention. He is being rehomed as a project pony with the aim of him being a small child’s lead rein pony out on loan. Desperado will need an experienced family to take him on loan and back him to ride. Please note that he has a maximum rider weight limit of 5 stone. He can be a bit wary of new people but once he trusts his handler he will do anything for them and always tries his best to please. Desperado is a fast learner and lunges well in the arena; he is currently long reining out very happily alone and in company with our dummy rider on board. He is very well mannered for farrier visits but is nervous of vets but relaxes with some reassurance from his groom and a few pony nuts. Desperado is very clever, and his groom has taught him to give kisses when asked which only adds to how cute he is. He must have his teeth done every six months for him to remain comfortable and does have a small sarcoid on his left hind which has not changed since being with us and doesn’t cause him any problems. Desperado was gelded late so is not suited to living with mares and is currently living out full time but would stable at night over the winter months if needed. He is a typical good doer and needs to be kept on restricted grazing to prevent weight gain. If you think your family would enjoy having Desperado on loan, please apply online.
